We are so incredibly grateful for the men of our Public Services Department who have worked tirelessly over the past two weeks to prepare, decorate, and bring our Valley to life.
Their dedication, long hours, and genuine pride in our community truly show. Just to give you an idea of the incredible amount of work that went into creating the beautiful displays throughout the Valley, they put out:
🍂 600 bales of straw
🎃 605 assorted pumpkins and squash
🌽 250 bundles of corn stalks
🍁 350 metal displays

And this was all done with care, creativity, and a whole lot of hard work.A very special thank you to Sue and Brad Pendley, Visit Haywood and all of the wonderful volunteers who gave their time and energy to help make our Valley so beautiful. It truly takes a community to create something special, and we are so fortunate to have people who care so deeply about Maggie Valley.
Thank you for all that you do. Our Valley is just a little more beautiful because of each and every one of you.
Throughout the month of October, pink and blue pinwheels surround the Town Hall sign in remembrance of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.
Each pinwheel represents a baby and a family whose lives have been forever changed by the loss of a pregnancy or infant.
The pinwheels serve as a gentle reminder that these losses are real, that the grief is lasting, and that no family should have to grieve alone.
During October, we honor the babies we have lost and stand in support of the families who carry their memory in their hearts.
We remember the babies born sleeping, those we carried but never held, those we held but could not take home, those who came home but could not stay
