Maggie Valley Town Hall Offices will be closed on Monday January 19, 2026 in observation of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will reopen on Tuesday morning at 8am. Garbage and recycle pick-up will run on the regular schedule. Please put your brown trash can out on Monday by 7am and the blue recycle can out on Tuesday by 7am.

Our community gets its name from Maggie Mae Setzer. Her father, John “Jack” Sidney Setzer founded the area’s first post office and it was named after one of his daughters. Each summer, Setzer descendants come from all over the country for a large family reunion in the historic valley.
